UK software agency for
web, mobile & custom software.
Mantar Tech is a UK-registered software development agency. We build bespoke web applications, iOS and Android apps, and custom software for businesses across the United Kingdom — fixed price, full source code ownership, no lock-in.
What to look for in a UK software agency.
Not all agencies are the same. These are the non-negotiables we believe every UK software agency should offer — and that we always deliver.
Fixed-Price Contracts
We quote fixed scope before we start. No open-ended day rates, no surprise invoices. You know the total cost before a line of code is written.
Full Source Code Ownership
You own 100% of the code, repositories and IP from day one. No lock-in, no licensing fees, no dependency on us to run your own software.
UK-Registered
Mantar Tech LTD is registered at Companies House. Working with a UK-registered entity protects you legally and simplifies contracts, invoicing and VAT.
Full-Stack Capability
Web apps, mobile apps, backend APIs, cloud infrastructure and UI/UX design — all under one roof. No need to coordinate multiple vendors.
Transparent Process
Staging environment access throughout development. Regular updates. You follow progress in real time — no black boxes, no mystery hand-offs.
Fast, Lean Delivery
MVPs from 8 weeks. We start with the highest-value features so you can validate, launch and iterate — without waiting 12 months for a finished product.
Software development services for UK businesses.
From early-stage startups to established SMEs — here's what we deliver.
Web Application Development
Custom web apps built with React, Next.js, Vue and Node.js. Internal tools, client-facing platforms, SaaS products and dashboards. Built for performance, accessibility and longevity.
Mobile App Development
iOS and Android apps using Swift, Kotlin, React Native and Flutter. From consumer apps to field-service tools. Native performance where it matters, cross-platform efficiency where it doesn't.
Custom Software Development
Bespoke automation tools, internal platforms, ERP integrations and multi-tenant SaaS. When off-the-shelf software doesn't fit your workflow, we build the exact thing you need.
MVP Development
Validate your idea before over-investing. We scope and build lean, testable MVPs — typically in 8–12 weeks — so you can launch with real users and learn fast. Typical cost: from £8,000.
API & Backend Development
Secure, documented REST and GraphQL APIs. Microservices architecture, third-party integrations (Stripe, Xero, Salesforce, etc.). Node.js, Python, .NET or Go — whichever fits.
UI/UX Design & Cloud
Research-driven UI/UX design from wireframe to shipped product. Cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure or GCP with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and Docker/Kubernetes where required.
How to choose a software agency in the UK.
Five questions to ask any software agency before you sign a contract.
1. Do I own the source code?
This is the most important question. Some agencies retain IP or lock you into hosting arrangements. Always confirm in writing that you own 100% of code and assets on delivery. We include this in our standard contract.
2. Is the price fixed or estimated?
Open-ended day-rate projects routinely run 2× over budget. Prefer fixed-scope, fixed-price quotes. If a scope change arises, it should be discussed and priced as a change request — not silently added to your invoice.
3. Can I see work they've done for similar businesses?
Ask for relevant portfolio examples — same industry, same type of product, or similar complexity. Generic portfolios or NDAs that hide everything are red flags.
4. Who actually builds the software?
Some agencies sell, then outsource to subcontractors. Find out if the engineers you meet are the ones building your product. Ask whether the team is employed or freelance, and how continuity is handled.
5. What happens after launch?
Bugs appear post-launch. Clarify the support and warranty policy before signing. How quickly do they respond? Is there a fixed-cost retainer option? What's included in the first 30 days?
