**The dilemma.** NorthStar Freight is a week from bankruptcy, and three hundred drivers will lose their jobs. Your council says let them sink and take their customers. Their founder has asked to see you, alone.

## Options and what happens

- **Offer a rescue loan (₥900).** (bold: d20 + adviser skill against 13)
  - Succeeds: NorthStar survives, pays you back with interest and never undercuts you again.
  - Fails: NorthStar sinks anyway, slower. The drivers remember who tried.
- **Poach their best customers now.** (certain): The contracts move to you overnight. So does a lot of resentment.
- **Decline the meeting.** (certain): NorthStar finds a buyer abroad who knows nothing about Meridyen roads.
